As spring/summer draws to a close, (at least in fashion terms!) we thought we would share some of the lovely press we've had this season.

It's always great to see our collection styled and modeled by other people, it inspires us so much. Below are just a few of the pieces featuring out SS16 collection. We've just made our final sale markdowns so pop over to the website if this has inspired you too!

 

We have popped up on the Little Spree website and Instagram feed a few times this season, they love our Pip sundress! Sarah and Nicky have the best taste, so we're honored to be featured.

 

 

Polona at Baby Jungle has a gorgeous girl, toddler boy and a new baby, all kitted out in Poppy & Hester! She wrote this fantastic blogpost earlier in the summer and is a big fan of our knitwear!

The photos of our Spring/Summer collection by Liesbet at the M Word Mag in Belgium were just amazing! Her styling is so sweet and who can resist a toddler in sunglasses? She also featured us last season and always gives the best fashion tips for kids.

Country Living Spring Fair

We are so excited about our spring collection and can't wait to share it with you! We have some lovely new Poppy & Hester prints, gorgeous cotton knitwear and what we think is the perfect sundress!

We are also pleased to share that we will be exhibiting in the 'newcomers market' at the Country Living Spring Fair in March. It's our first fair of the spring and it's a big one, in London's Business Design Centre in Islington from the 16th-20th March.

Five festive styling tips

Here are our top styling tips for girls for the festive season!

#1 Party party party dresses
Of course this has to be number one! You can't survive the party season without a brilliant dress. Our Freya dress is designed to be dressed up all down so add a few festive accessories (see below) & your party shoes and dance! 

 

#2 Fantastic accessories
The festive season is a great opportunity to have fun with accessories, colourful tights, beautiful hair accessories & perfect hats, scarves and gloves.

We have a lovely range of co-ordinating grosgrain hair accessories available online and our Coco scarves complete any outfit perfectly and can be tied at the front, or the back for younger children.

For perfect ribbed tights we recommend Verity Jones or for babies and toddlers You Are Small have a fabulous range in every colour imaginable!

#3 A great pair of boots
Wellies are a must-have but we also think a great pair of smart boots are essential for Winter dressing. Here are a couple of our favourites...

#4 Cosy knitwear
Knitwear this season is made from soft and warm merino lambswool in the prettiest winter colours. Our striped Chloe trousers are perfect for snow days or cold days at home tucked up with a good movie and a bucket of popcorn and our Charlotte cardigan is perfect to throw on top of any outfit for an extra warm layer!

#5 The warmest baby blanket
These are our top tips for girls but for babies we have just one essential for the festive season, our woven lambswool baby blankets.
The size is perfect for swaddling newborns or for the Moses basket and is the width of most standard cots. Lovely and warm but lightweight and not too large it’s also a great size for prams or pushchairs and perfect for Christmas holidays and winter car journeys.

You Are Small socks and tights

Hannah started You Are Small in 2013 after the birth of her daughter Maud. Her love of colour, textiles and pattern lead her to create this beautiful baby brand and she makes and dyes all the pieces by hand at her home in south east London.

Poppy & Hester especially love her collections of hand dyed tights and socks, each pair lovingly dyed to the most beautiful colours. It's often hard to find pretty plain coloured tights but look no further. And we are so pleased to be able to get our hands on socks in tasteful colours and hide the pink Hello Kitty socks away!

Hester Loves...

The Black Rabbit

We are always looking out for unusual toys and gifts and we were delighted when we discovered The Black Rabbit knitted toys a few years ago. We have just used the elephants that we already owned in our AW photoshoot and we are pleased to say that we are now stocking a range of The Black Rabbit knitted toys. They are all handmade in Margate, Kent, and the new colours are gorgeous.

Initially we will sell them exclusively at our fairs and pop-up shop, click here for details about our upcoming event in Tunbridge Wells, but they will also be available online soon after that, in time for Christmas.

Hester's Little Sister

Our Poppy Wears... series will be back in the next couple of weeks with styling ideas and our favourite picks from the new collection. In the meantime we have put together our first selection for babies, it's not all about pink for little girls!

Our reversible trousers and Charlotte merino knitted jacket are wardrobe staples this season and are guaranteed to get lots of wear. The trousers are made in the softest brushed cotton in denim blue so they are really comfortable for babies and will match with everything, roll up the hems for a pop of our new heart print.

We have styled the outfit here with a simple organic striped vest from H&M (they have a great range of organic basics) and cute heart print pumps from Baby Gap. Don't be without our striped wool baby blanket, it's the perfect size for taking out and about with the pushchair and in the car, just in case things turn colder.
